PEI is the smallest of the Canadian provinces and is quite unlike
any other. It has a beautiful beach and resort area on the
north coast which is apparently full of tourists during the summer
months - in fact, tourism is the main industry in the province.
Things to See and Do
The government has set
up a series of driving tours which will take you around the
whole of the island. We drove along one of these, the most
popular, which was quite interesting. The island is very pretty..except for the horrible tourist cabins they have built
all over the place, even in the middle of fields!
In the short time we
were there we did the following things:
- reached PEI by
driving across the new 14 km long Confederation Bridge which
connects the province to mainland Nova Scotia
- drove through the ultra touristy north coast area
- spent the night in Charlottetown at a beautiful B&B called
Fitzroy Hall (phone 902-368-2077)
